2003 Annual Report: Development

Forming partnerships and raising money to ensure that hungry children always have a voice against hunger in Ohio.

  • Partnered with corporate and individual donors to provide more than $2.6 million to feed more kids.
  • Hosted the 8th Annual Menu of Hope luncheon featuring keynote speaker and country singer Naomi Judd; Honorary Co-chairs Bill Ingram (President and CEO of White Castle System, Inc.); Marci Ingram (Community Volunteer) and Brian Stanfill (District Governor, Rotary International District 6690); Lead Sponsor was US Bank; Media Sponsors: WBNS-10TV, SNP and Columbus C.E.O.
  • Raised more than $200,000 for the Children’s Hunger Alliance Endowment Fund, to ensure that Children’s Hunger Alliance has a solid financial future.
  • Expanded existing campaigns such as Lunch Money for a Day, Change for Children, Menu of the Month and A Taste to Remember, and implemented new programs such as the White Castle/Dispatch newspaper sales partnership and the Big Bear Caring for Children Campaign.
  • Engaged students, business men and women and senior citizens in over 4,500 volunteer hours through activities such as, Board and Committee service, Community Care Day, the Wendy’s Chili Open, afterschool programs with children, Volunteer a Meal, Neighbors Make a Difference and home office administrative duties.

Our Vision and Mission
Our vision is that all Ohio children will thrive because of Children's Hunger Alliance's leadership and dedication to expanding access to food, nutrition education and quality child care. To achieve this, Children's Hunger Alliance must break the cycle of hunger through education, leadership, advocacy and service. That is our mission.
