Ensuring that local, state and federal
policy makers keep nutrition programs accessible to the people
that really need them.
- Advocated with Ohio policy makers for adoption
of simplified income and asset requirements for the Food
Stamp Program with great success.
- Published "Hunger in Ohio: The State
of the State 2004" and 88 county profiles documenting
the status of hunger in each county and how federal nutrition
programs were being used.
- Advocated for the passage of the Child Nutrition
and WIC Reauthorization Act that included Ohio as a participant
in the Lugar and Fresh Fruit and Vegetable pilot programs.
- Conducted briefings for congressional staff
and state legislators on the status of hunger in Ohio and
Ohios utilization of federal nutrition programs.
