Menu of Hope
Menu of Hope debuted on February 26, 1996
in celebration of the agency’s 25th Anniversary. Children’s
Hunger Alliance’s first annual luncheon featured former
New York Governor and dynamic speaker Mario M. Cuomo for its
keynote address.

The exciting event was attended by 800
corporate executives, legislators and civic leaders, raising
more than $65,000 to start the agency’s endowment fund
to make sure we can continue Feeding hungry minds and bodies®.
The February Menu of Hope has become an
annual experience, steadily gaining a reputation as an outstanding
event while raising public awareness of childhood hunger.
The event, like the agency, is professionally managed with
a business approach and is made fiscally prudent through numerous
in-kind alliances.

Growing attendance, increased donations,
corporate and media support has
turned the Menu of Hope luncheon
into one of Columbus’ premier
philanthropic events. Since its
inception, Menu of Hope has built an endowment fund of over
$2 million.

The 2005 Menu of Hope was co-chaired by Ohio’s Attorney General Jim Petro, the President of The Ohio State University, Dr. Karen Holbrook, and Gary E. McCullough, President of the Ross Products Division of Abbott Laboratories. The star of "Bridgette Loves Bernie," "Family Ties," and over 55 made for television movies, Meredith Baxter, was guest speaker for the luncheon which hosted the largest crowd in the event's history. The 2005 Lead Sponsor was Discover Financial Services.

The 2006
Menu of Hope, which boasts Honda of America Mfg., Inc. as the lead sponsor, will be co-chaired by the Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives, Jon Husted, the President of The Ohio State Alumni Association, Archie Griffin, and Sharen Jester Turney, the President and CEO of Victoria's Secret Direct. To be held Monday,
February 13, 2006, the event’s guest speaker will be
Jim Tressel, Head Football Coach of The Ohio State Buckeyes.
