Early Childhood Nutrition
|
If you'
re going to be Feeding hungry minds and bodies®, you'd better be putting food in some tummies.
Early Childhood Nutrition helps Family Child-Care providers serve well-balanced, nutritious meals and snacks to
the children in their care at no-cost to the provider or the families.
Early Childhood Nutrition
works with the Child and Adult Care
Food Program (CACFP), a program of the USDA's Food and Nutrition Service (FNS). CACFP was founded in 1968 to provide federal funds for meals and snacks to licensed
public and nonprofit child care centers, group child care homes, preschools and public or nonprofit schools that
have programming during non-school hours. Through this program, Early Childhood Nutrition acquires money to reimburse
Family Child-Care providers for the meals and snacks as long as the food (and home) meets the USDA nutrition standards.
