Family Child-Care Certification
|
For
our Family Child-Care providers to support our mission of Feeding hungry minds and bodies®,
they must have a safe, healthy environment that can provide education, nutrition and physical activity. To ensure
parents of the safety providers offer as caregivers, providers may obtain state certification. Children's
Hunger Alliance works with men and women everyday to help them meet certification requirements for their home-based
business.
By assisting entrepreneurs in opening their new businesses, we build alliances with Family Child-Care
providers across the state and provide ongoing support through home visits. During home visits, our Nutrition Specialists
work with the provider on:
- professionalism and business management;
- technical assistance to ensure they meet health and safety regulations;
- menu building and proper portions for the children in their care;
- literacy education and school readiness training;
- age-appropriate child development and physical activities; and,
- self-evaluation and training to improve the overall quality of care provided
in their home.
Our continued development of new Family Child-Care providers and close working relationship with them ensures
the availability of quality child care for Ohio's children.
