Feeding hungry minds and bodies
through partnerships between the Alliance and businesses and groups is a win-win for all, but especially for the
kids.

What
is Cause-Related Marketing?
The Cause-Related Marketing programs at Children's Hunger Alliance are a unique partnership linking a company or
brand to the Alliance's charitable cause in order to raise funds to fight childhood hunger. The relationship between
a meaningful cause and brand builds sales and enhances the image of the company and product. The Alliance has a
number of campaigns going on throughout the year.
A Win-Win Situation!
The benefits of Cause-Related Marketing dollars open doors, not only to raise funds for the fight against hunger,
but to increase sales, strengthen reputations within the community and motivate employees. With the collaboration...
|
Children’s Hunger Alliance benefits from a monetary return and increases awareness of
hunger-related issues and of its mission.
|
|
The Partner Company benefits from increased sales and enhances its image with a distinctive
and impact-producing message of doing good.
|
|
The Collaboration inspires employee morale and often builds corporate loyalty for the
Partner Company in the community.

Did You Know?
Given a buying choice between two products of equivalent price and quality, consumers report:
- 78% would more likely buy a product associated with a cause;
- 66% would switch brands to support a cause;
- 62% would switch retailers to support a cause; and,
- 64% believe that cause-related marketing should be a standard part of a company's activities.

How
does it work?
Promotions are based on incremental sales and developed through the company's existing marketing budget, not through
corporate donations. A key component is publicity. Children's Hunger Alliance will promote the campaign through
its HungerLine newsletter, its web site, free media opportunities, and special
e-mail newsletters.
For example: a restaurant may wish to feature a select dessert product by directing a percentage
of the proceeds to Children’s Hunger Alliance. Children’s Hunger Alliance promotes the campaign to help increase
the sale of the dessert. The result is a win/win partnership. The agency receives a donation, the restaurant increases
sales of their item, and both benefit from increased publicity.
A Win-Win Situation!
