Menu of Hope
Menu of Hope debuted on February 26, 1996 in celebration of the Alliance’s 25th Anniversary. Children’s Hunger
Alliance’s first annual luncheon featured former New York Governor and dynamic speaker Mario M. Cuomo for its keynote
address. The exciting event was attended by 800 corporate executives, legislators and civic leaders, raising more
than $65,000 to start the Alliance’s endowment fund to make sure we can continue Feeding hungry minds and bodies®.
The February Menu of Hope has become an annual experience, steadily gaining a reputation as an outstanding event
while raising public awareness of childhood hunger. The event, like the agency, is professionally managed with
a business approach and is made fiscally prudent through numerous partnerships.
Growing attendance, increased donations, corporate and media support has turned the Menu of Hope luncheon into
one of Columbus premier philanthropic events. Since its inception, Menu of Hope has built an endowment fund of
over $2 million.
The 2008 Menu of Hope, which boasts Cardinal Health as the lead sponsor, will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2008,
the event’s guest speaker will be E. Gordon Gee.
