Afterschool Snacks for Community Organizations

A federal program called the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program can help you provide FREE, healthy food for low-income children participating in your afterschool program. The program provides students with a nutritional boost and encourages participation in supervised activities that are safe, fun and filled with learning opportunities.

  1. Provides funding to feed suppers in afterschool programs for children up through age 12 and that offer 2 activities.
  2.  Increases organization’s ability to meet the nutritional needs of children in their care by reimbursing them for meals.

Any school, governmental organizations, or non-profit organizations can participate in CACFP.
