School & Summer NutritionChildren’s Hunger Alliance works with schools and youth-serving organizations throughout Ohio to expand participation in all Child Nutrition Programs and raise awareness of the impact of childhood hunger on development, health and learning. Within the agency, the SSN department targets geographic areas of need, links food to learning, and helps organizations overcome barriers by implementing successful programs. The SSN department also supports new and existing sponsors and programs by providing technical assistance, which ensures meal programs operate efficiently and effectively.
Federal programs exist to provide children in Ohio a nutritious breakfast, lunch and afterschool
meal or snack. If you are a school
or a youth-serving organization,
these programs reimburse you for
providing children access to
nutritious meals at school and during
the summertime too. Unfortunately, these programs are tremendously under utilized in Ohio. That’s where our SSN department comes in. For more info on these programs, click the click the links on the left.
