National Summer Food Service Program

Congress created the Summer Food Service Program for Children (SFSP) in 1968 out of concern for proper nutrition for children. This program is provided by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the Ohio Department of Education (ODE). The SFSP reimburses sponsoring agencies for meals served to children in low-income areas. Meals are served at qualified SFSP sites located throughout the state.
